If you’re looking for some adrenaline pumping action during the 10 Days in the Towers Festival be sure to make a beeline for the Dust N Gold Rodeo being held at the Dalrymple Equestrian Centre on Saturday April, 22.
Charters Towers Rodeo Association (CTRA) president Stephen Land said the 2017 edition of the rodeo will mark the first time that it has been integrated into the 10 Days festival program.
“We think it’s a great way to promote our great town and the rodeo simultaneously” Mr Land said.
The gates to the grounds will open at 10am with the first round action beginning at 11am,” he said.
“The evening performance will follow the grand entry and national anthem at 6pm with live music by 52 Pick-Up to follow until the Waverley Hotel bar at the grounds closes at midnight.”
CTRA secretary Fay Staub said as the Dust N Gold is one of the first ABCRA NQ Zone rodeos on the season calendar, it generates huge interest from competitors wanting to get a head start on their season points.
“Across open, novice and junior events competitor numbers are always very pleasing, with an more than 350 nominations expected this year,” Ms Staub said.
The CTRA thanked the members of the community, their sponsors and the competitors for helping them put on an event which consistently draw a crowd of more than 1000 people each year.
