Warm up your singing voice and get your best dancing boots ready for the Charters Towers Country Music Festival which will be celebrating its 40th birthday in 2017 during the 10 Days in the Towers festival.
Festival committee secretary Debbie Jensen said to mark the milestone, several special events will occur at this years festival taking place from April 28 to April 30 at the Charters Towers Showgrounds.
“We’ll be having a fireworks display on Friday night followed by a birthday celebration with a commemorative cake cutting ceremony taking place,” Ms Jensen said.
Special guests headlining this years festival include Jade Holland, 8 Ball Aitken and 2017 Tamworth Golden Guitar Male Artist of the Year nominee Doug Bruce and the Tailgaters.
Ms Jensen said nominations for the Talent Quest competition are filling up fast and suggests that aspiring musos should get their nominations in as soon as possible.
“The winner of the Talent Quest finals being held on Sunday will take home $2000, earn a guest spot at the 2017 Gympie Muster and gain entry into the Trans-Tasman Norfolk Island Country Music Festival.”
“This year we have a really wide range of musical acts during the night concerts, and the great atmosphere and people that are synonymous with the festival are sure to attract a great crowd.”
