Aussie Pumps is holding a competition on to find the oldest operating Fire Chief pump in the market. The prize is a brand new Aussie Fire Chief with 6.5 hp GX200 Honda petrol engine.
Aussie Pumps’ Brad Farrugia said since the competition began earlier this year, they’ve found machines up to 30 years old that have been operating continuously.
“They are fitted with the original Honda GX140 engine, and those engines still start first pull,” he said.
Capertee Valley’s John Paul “JP” Jordan said his old Fire Chief has never missed a beat in 28 years.
“The Chief performs just as well as when it was new,” he said.
The competition winner will be announced at the end of April. For information visit www.aussiepumps.com.au.
