THE auctions of two Gympie properties that were scheduled to go to auction today, have been postponed as a result of the major rain event following cyclone Debbie.
Marketing agent Jez McNamara, Ray White Rural, said the auctions had been delayed one week following the widespread rain and flooding in the region.
Abyssinia at Scotchy Pocket covers 192 hectares (475 acres) and is in four freehold titles. Located 30 minutes from Gympie, the property has rich black soils with blue gum ridges. It has a 850m Mary River frontage, dams and a creek. Abyssinia has improved pastures and steel cattle yards.
Birrimway is also Mary River grazing country covering 196 hectares (485 acres). The freehold property has both spotted gum flats and iron bark ridges with a 1km frontage to the Mary River. Improvements include cattle yards, a dip, and lane way. Birrimway is estimated to carry 60 breeders.
