CQUniversity campuses at Mackay and Townsville are closed due to Tropical Cyclone Debbie.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman said both campuses would remain closed on Tuesday and re-open Wednesday, unless otherwise advised.
"The cyclone is already bringing with it strong winds and heavy rain in some areas and, as a result, both the Mackay and Townsville campuses closed on Monday ensure that our staff and students can get home safely to prepare,” Mr Bowman said.
"For staff and students at these locations, we will also be using our SafeZone alert messaging system to advise further details, so please ensure you have downloaded the SafeZone app.
"Staff and students are reminded to monitor local emergency services advice on the radio and other channels and follow advice as appropriate."
