STUNG: A Leyburn man is in hospital after being attacked by a swarm of wasps.
A LEYBURN man in his late sixties is in hospital after being attacked by a swarm of wasps.
It's believed the patient was about to inspect a solar pump when he opened the lid and the wasps flew out and stung the man numerous times. He went into anaphylactic shock due to the stings.
The local QAS crew were first on scene and stabilised the patient before the rescue helicopter landed close by and transferred him to the aircraft where he was airlifted in a stable condition to the Toowoomba Hospital by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.
