With parts of the Highlands still experiencing dry conditions, numbers increased to 2000 head at the February 23 Emerald sale.
All categories saw similar rates to last week’s sale with medium weight weaner cattle increasing slightly.
Heavy steers 500-550kg made to 317c to average 304c, with steers 400-500kg making to 322c to average 305c.
Steers 320-400kg made to 329c to average 306c, while steers in the weaner weight ranges made to 370c to average 320c.
Heifers over 400kg made to 293/kg to average 262c, with heifers 300-400kg making to 316c to average 286c.
Meanwhile, heifers in the weaner weight ranges made to 334c to average 298c. cows 520kg made to 235c to average 228c, while cows 400-520kg made to 231c to average 226c.
A mixed quality lot of cows and calves made to $1010 per unit.

Wayne and Sandi Cant, Bridgeflats, Emerald offered Droughtmaster cross heifers to 294c to weigh 322kg or $947, John and Cheryl Randell, Crinum, Tieri sold Brahman heifers to 298c to weigh 325kg or $969.
Andrew and Sonya Harvey, Kenlogan, Clermont consigned Droughtmaster heifers to 319c to weigh 290kg or $927, while their cow portion made to 230c to weigh 556kg or $1279.
