CLONCURRY STOCKMAN’S CHALLENGE
The Curley Cattle Transport Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge is regarded as one of the greatest horse events in Australia. The 35th annual event is being held at the Cloncurry Equestrian Centre this year from Wednesday, July 12 to Sunday, July 16.

CLONCURRY AND DISTRICT SHOW
A great time is sure to be had by all when the 38th Cloncurry and District Show comes to town on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17. From humble beginnings in 1980 to now, the Cloncurry & District show has earnt its reputation of being the biggest and the best show in the west.
With entries from across the state as well as across the district, Cloncurry Show proudly showcases what it truly means to live in the 'Curry'.
Visitors to the show will sample the best of the region from handicraft, cooking and art to trade stalls and sponsors displays, giving an attendees a colourful picture of life out west.
The show committee has built up a well deserved reputation of providing fabulous entertainment that provides something for all the family.
From first class horse events,ringers rally to cattle displays, from live music, roving entertainment to daring circus acts in the centre ring the crowds are constantly kept entertained. CURRY MERRY MUSTER FESTIVAL
The 63rd annual Curry Merry Muster Festival taking place on Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6 is set to provide visitors and locals with an exceptional entertainment experience.
Festivities will kick off on Thursday with the traditional street parade and crowning of the Rodeo Queens to follow.
Friday morning will be a great time for all ages with the Teddy Bears Picnic and Bush Poets Breakfast taking place, and the action in the ring will begin on Friday night with the Curry Merry Muster APRA Rodeo and Junior rodeo.
The rodeo will continue all day on Saturday, with the winners announced that night. The fun doesn’t end there though, with the ATRA Annual Roping Day sure to garner a great crowd on Sunday. QUAMBY RODEO
Normally just a dot on the landscape 60km north of Cloncurry, the tiny settlement of Quamby will spring to life on Saturday, July 29 with the annual rodeo taking place, a tradition that dates back to 1997.
All the usual rodeo events are on display with competitors of various abilities trying their hand at Bull Riding, Bronc Riding as well as timed events such as Steer Wrestling and Barrel Racing.
Quamby is not just about the grown up’s - free entry for children and free kids entertainment all day, plus junior events such as mutton busting and a Poddy Calf Ride give the juniors a chance to don their spurs and chaps for some excitement of their very own.
Roll out your swag, pitch your tent, or hook up your caravan because free camping is available for the weekend with hot food and hot showers available. With professional rodeos in both Cloncurry and Mt Isa in the weeks following the Quamby rodeo, it’s the perfect way to get a laid back and fun introduction to the sport of rodeo, catch up with old mates, make new mates, have a laugh, have a beer, and above all else have fun with family and friends.
