While most of the state enjoyed the pitter patter of rain on their tin roof, parts of the Central West missed out receiving dismal rain into the New Year.
The Bureau of Meterology (BOM) recorded limited totals with Winton only receiving 3.8 millimetres in January so far, while other parts of the state have recorded between 50-200mm.
Other amounts of rainfall totals recorded include: Longreach, 12mm, Muttaburra 22mm, Belmont 4.6mm, Devoncourt Station 23.6mm, Barcaldine 29.6mm and Blackall 5.6mm.
Into the start of this week conditions will be mostly sunny with the slight chance of light scattered showers around the region. Hot conditions will spread during the week as a broad area of low pressure extends into the region reaching a top of 42 degrees in Winton.
The earliest prediction of Central Queensland receiving rain is over the weekend with a slight chance of five to 10mm.
