Local businesses, councils and not-for-profit organisations in North Queensland, will learn how to prepare stronger grant applications through workshops held by Regional Development Australia.
RDA is holding free regional workshops, in partnership with local, state and federal governments, to provide updates on grants and programs and advice on developing strong applications for the Building Better Regions Fund.
RDA Chief Executive Officer Glenys Schuntner said the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund is just for rural, regional and remote communities.
“The program provides funding for both infrastructure projects and community investment that will create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities,” Ms Schuntner said.
“With applications opening next week it’s important councils and organisations review their relevant projects and start to prepare their applications.”
Applications close for the Infrastructure Projects Stream on 28 February and the Community Investments Stream on 31 March.
The workshops will also include information on Australian and Queensland Government grants and programs administered by Aus Industry and their partner Townsville Business Development Centre and the Department of State Development.
The free RDA workshops in January will be held in the following regions; Charters Towers on 16th, Hughenden and Richmond 17th, Julia Creek and Cloncurry 18th, Mount Isa 19th and Normanton 30th.
Free tickets can be booked online through Townsville Tickets and Mount Isa Tickets.
RDA will also be holding Building Better Regions Fund workshops in other regions over the coming weeks, including; Townsville, Mornington, Burketown and Ayr.
