BRIAN and Marilyn Berger’s Westmar property Jabiru has sold while negotiations are continuing on their home property Milton Park, which was passed in at a Ray White Rural auction today.
Located 106km north west of Goondiwindi, the 3138ha (7755 acres) property Milton Park property was passed in for $3.9 million. Post-auction egotiations are said to be continuing.
Jabiru was initially passed in for $1.2m before selling soon after the auction for a substantially higher figure.
Nine parties registered to bid at today’s auction, which also include Westview at Kupunn, west of Dalby. Negotiations are continuing on that 69ha (171 acre) freehold property which was passed in for $420,000.
Milton Park is described as slightly undulating brigalow, belah country with 800ha that was previously cultivated and returned to improved pasture. Milton Park was a soldier settler block taken off Remilton.
The property has about 800ha of cultivation including 160ha of fallow. Contour banks have been established where required across the cultivation areas.
Water is sourced from 14 dams and pumped to tanks and distributed to troughs located in each paddock.
Milton Park is divided into 19 paddocks. An internal laneway services all paddocks to the cattle yards. The cattle yards have a loading ramp, crush, branding cradle, and a feedbunk for weaning. Other improvements include three houses, sheds, silos, a grain dryer and a storage container.
Jabiru covers 1019ha (2517 acres) of mainly brigalow, belah country running back to box. Water is sourced from four dams and a creek. It is fenced into six paddocks and has cattle yards with crush and branding cradle. Other improvements include a machinery shed.
The previously cultivated areas on Jabiru have been returned to natural grasses and Bilolea buffel.
