A yarding of 2982 came to hand at Gracemere sale on December 2 comprising 1506 steers, 1242 heifers, 220 cows, 37 cows and calves and 34 bulls.
The market for prime cattle eased slightly however all other descriptions were firm to 40c dearer, weaner steers and weaner heifers met with a very strong competition so did the better quality heifers.
MS Sherry, Marlborough, sold 87 Brahman cross No5 heifers averaging 305c weighing 364kg returning $1109. PJ Stone, Baralaba, sold Brangus No5 steers for 330c weighing 425kg returning $1403. Cedar Creek Grazing, Gogango, sold Brahman Droughtmaster cross bullocks to top at 287c weighing 720kg to return $2069. Wales Grazing, Biloela, sold crossbred steers to top at 338c weighing 414kg to return $1402.
Gloria McHugh, St Lawrence, sold two pens of Brahman heifers to top at 366c to average 202kg to return $727. Brindabella partnership, Theodore, sold 103 Droughtmaster EU steers 414c weighing 230kg $954. Yeppoon Grazing, Yeppoon, sold Droughtmaster cross steers 410c weighing 186kg returning $765. C&H Moretti, Echo Lee, sold Charbray cows weighing 623kg to top at $1040.
Wayne Hetherington and Family, Pasadena, Moura, sold 120 Santa feeder steers to return 356c and averaged 336c weighing 440kg to return $1442.
