All Souls St Gabriels School hosted it's annual Speech Day on November 18, which provided an opportunity to commemorate the achievements of the year and reflect on the journey of the class of 2016.
Headmaster, Darren Fleming spoke on the reality of the school as a "Family", past, present and future, and how all students and staff are connected and share the honor of being part of the school.
This concept was reiterated in the speeches made by school captain's Max Allingham and Hollie Grant, who shared their personal journeys during their time at the school and according to All Souls St Gabriels School marketing and promotions officer Tracy Maff “their wasn't a dry eye in the theatre”.
The ceremonies special guest was past student Dolph Francis, who shared his career journey from athlete to physiotherapist at the Queensland Sports Medicine Centre in Brisbane.
Some highlights from the morning were, Year 12 student Dylan McKenna taking home the Nimmo Prize for Dux of the School, the Propsting Prize, the Headmaster's Award for Writing, CD Smith Prize for Best Senior Debater and the Allan Maxwell McLean Memorial Prize for Excellence in Science.
The Best All Round Senior Sportsman and Pierre de Coubertin Award were awarded to Max Allingham and Sarah Santo won the Best All Round Senior Sportswomen.
The evening welcomed the Year 12 Valedictory, which began with a farewell service at the chapel followed by a formal Dinner for 300 at the School's Multi Purpose Court.
