Back for its 12th year, the Young Beef Producers’ Forum will be held on November 17 and 18 in Roma and with speakers from all over the country, this year’s event is one not to be missed.
Local grazier and organising committee chair Barclay Bassett has attended the event for the last eight years and said he was looking forward to hearing from successful producers and industry leaders with the property tour and opportunities to learn about different operations a favourite.
A big drawcard for young producers this year is a tour of highly regarded local property, Meeleebee Downs. Owner Warrick Freeman will speak at length about management decisions he has made to help increase profitability.
With the theme of profit running through the entire event, the forum will hear from leaders and successful speakers who wish to pass on their knowledge.
Ian McLean from Bush Agribusiness will speak on the fundamentals of profit making in beef production and has the research and evidence to get his message across.
Susan McDonald, managing director of the successful vertically integrated company Super Butcher, is another highly anticipated speaker.
Other innovative speakers include David Greenup of Rosevale Santa Gertrudis who will comment on making use of tools to drive fertility, while Emma Robinson from North Queensland will speak on the benefits of co-operatives.
The forum is also pleased to welcome Kirsty McCormack, winner of this year’s Rising Champions Initiative.
This event emphasises the importance of networking- not only meeting like-minded young people but also spending time with speakers to get the most out of the two day program.
Included in a full registration is a ‘meet and greet’ on Wednesday night and the TopX YBPF dinner and auction on Thursday.
Running the two days before the Roma Cup, this event attracts attendees from right across Australia. For the first time, some presentations will also be streamed live on AuctionsPlus so those who are unable to travel do not miss out on important information.
Tickets are $150 for Future Farmers Network (FFN) members while non-members pay $185. For more information or to register visit www.ybpf.com.au.
