All the usual processor buyers were present and operating, with solid demand from a New South Wales processor for bulls.
Overall, prime cattle prices improved, with cows remaining firm in price.
Steers over 550kg sold to 298c/kg and averaged 284c, while steers in the 400-550kg sold to 316c and averaged 310c.

Tom Darlington, Wongabel, Surat, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 297c for 662kg to return $1969.
Heifers over 450kg made to 286c and averaged 265c, while heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 265c and averaged 264c.
Luckona Holdings, Luckona Downs, Wallumbilla, sold Charolais heifers to 286c for 466kg to return $1335.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 286c and averaged 243c, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 257c and averaged 234c.
Cows in the 300-400kg range sold to 236c and averaged 211c.

Dubbo throughput declined 10 per cent, to 4540 head. It was a plainer quality yarding this week, with not a great deal of good quality trade and heavy weight cattle on offer. Heavy C3 yearling steers to feed sold to 382c, averaging 355c. Heavy C3 yearling heifers to gained 4c, at 328c. Heavy C4 grown steers eased 13c, averaging 299c. Numbers at Bairnsdale decreased 47pc, to 340 head. Good quality prime cattle were in limited supply. Heavy D3 yearling heifers to processors were up 4c, averaging 315c. Heavy C3 grown steers to slaughter eased 3c, averaging 325c.
