The 2016 All Souls St Gabriels School (ASSG), P&F Spring Fete was a great success with over 1000 people in attendance.
The event, was held in conjunction with the ASSG Past Students Ass. Reunion weekend and included a Past v Present Students Touch Football match and debate.
ASSG’s Marketing and Promotions officer Tracy Maff said the P&F Fete committee put together a wonderful family fun filled afternoon and evening with live entertainment, food court, market, novelty stalls and much more.
The event also showcased the “bushman” skills of the community with the Barr’s Batteries & Tyre Stockman’s Challenge, where two-man teams competed against each other to win $300 cash.
Six teams in total competed, with “A1”, which consisted of Jack Maxwell and Derek Musk taking home first place and “Deez Nuggets” coming in runner-up’s.
The Souls Pig Races were full of action, with three races and a final throughout the afternoon.
Fete goers were given the opportunity to name the pigs for each race and a calcutta was held for the final, which saw Jane McKellar take home the cash with the “Leake’s from the Creek” which was named by the Leake Family from Julia Creek.
