DENIS Conway’s single bid of $4.4 million has bought Rodney Pulford’s 1360ha (3360 acre) Taroom bullock depot Numeralla at a GDL auction in Taroom today.
The Conways stunned the Taroom auction when they made the single offer, leaving the nine other registered bidders empty handed. The price is equal to $3235/ha $1310/acre.
The Conways are based at nearby Currawong.
Located 33km south of Taroom, Numeralla is described as prime, soft scrub country originally timbered with mainly brigalow and bauhinia. The property has been selectively developed with buffel pastures and has an abundance of winter herbages. About 800ha has been blade ploughed.
Improvements include a timber homestead and cattle yards. Water is supplied from four dams and seasonal creek holes. Numeralla is divided into eight paddocks.
The marketing of Numeralla was handled by John Sims and Kerry Flanagan from Rural Property GDL Real Estate.
