THE western Queensland property market is showing plenty of strength with a number of properties which had previously been to auction or listed for sale now under contract.
They include the Blackall property Dumfries, Politic at Aramac, and the Longreach holdings Meroondah Downs, Glen Thompson, Silverwood and The Glen, Bexley and North Elmsdale.
Daven Vohland, Elders Blackall, said cattle prices, widespread rain and low interest rates were inspiring buyers.
“But it’s the season that is really driving the market,” Mr Vohland said.
Cameron Elmes, Elmes Rural, Longreach, said there was strong interest from sheep producers, in contrast to the property market prior to the GFC which was solely dominated by cattle producers.
Agents report there is also growing interest in the significant 99,990ha (247,081 acre) Ilfracombe property Portland Downs and the McPherson family’s 53,000ha (131,000 acre) four-property Isisford aggregation Ruthven.
Andrew Adcock, Ruralco, said there was also strong interest in the CPC properties Gowan and Mount Marlow at Blackall and Cooinda at Winton, which go to auction on October 13.
Listowel Downs, Blackall, will also be auctioned by Colliers on October 14.
