A PRIZED Boyne Valley property estimated to run 1500-1700 breeders is on the market, to be auctioned by Elders in Biloela on November 16.
Dalga has a total grazing area of 13,212ha (32,647 acres). There are 7675 hectares (18,965 acres) in four freehold titles, 821ha (2029 acres) of leasehold country, and stock grazing permits covering a further 4716ha (11,653 acres).
The property is located about 100km south of Gladstone and 70km north east of Monto. It is being offered on a walk in, walk out basis with 1000 Grey Brahman breeders joined to Nobbs family bred Brahman and Charbray bulls. The young breeders are mostly on their first calf. Plant and equipment is also included in the sale.
The country is described as being mainly gently undulating blue gum flats adjacent to the Kolan River, running to good open forest country which is supported by numerous main creek flats, open ironbark and box hollows.
There has been extensive timber treatment carried out including about 1200ha of pulled country. There are plans in place to mechanically clear further areas under the current PMAV. There is also the potential to thin large areas of forest.
The property features a double frontage to the Kolan River, which is fed by several main water courses, all of which have permanent water holes. Water is also supplied from four bores supported by 37 dams and numerous springs.
Dalga is divided into 20 main paddocks and several holding paddocks which are serviced by a new laneway system. Several paddocks along the Kolan River have been previously cultivated have been returned to pasture. There is more than 50km of new fencing on the property.
There are three sets of strategically positioned cattleyards. Other improvements include a high set four bedroom homestead with granny flat, a 35KVA back-up generator, and a machinery/hay shed.
