Light steers reach top of 448c/kg at Gracemere

The prime cattle firmed a shade while the lighter cows also improved.  Once again the feeder cattle were dearer while the weaner steers and weaner heifers were also dearer.

Steers under 200kg reached 448c/kg and averaged 406c/kg, steers 200 - 300kg reached 452c/kg and averaged 373c/kg, steers 300 - 400kg topped at 373c/kg to average 349c/kg and steers 400 - 500kg reached 363c/kg and averaged 349c/kg.

Heifers under 200kg reached 396c/kg and averaged 356c/kg, heifers 200 - 300kg topped at 392c/kg to average 345c/kg, heifers 300 - 400kg reached 368c/kg and averaged 320c/kg, while heavy heifers topped at 320c/kg, averaging 302c/kg.

Slaughter cows reached 268c/kg and averaged 252c/kg, cows under 320kg topped at 258c/kg and averaged 175c/kg, cows 320 - 400kg reached 255c/kg, averaging 235c/kg and cows 400 - 450kg sold to 265c/kg and averaged 243c/kg.

Cows and calves reached $1650 and averaged $1619.

Bulls over 600kg topped at 277c/kg and averaged 236c/kg, bulls 450kg - 600kg reached 288c/kg averaging 250c/kg, while bulls under 450kg topped at 380c/kg and averaged 289c/kg.
