AN opportunity to secure a smaller poultry farm with the potential for a 43 lot residential subdivision has emerged.
The farm at Stockleigh near Logan Village about 48km south of Brisbane is set on 27 hectares (67 acres).
Deran Weale from Raine and Horne Rural Brisbane said the owners were seeking to retire.
“As it has been for the owners, this would make a sound investment or stepping stone for a family run business or investor,” Mr Weale said.
“The industry has a proven, reliable batch payment system with healthy returns.”
The farm has been converted to an RSPCA accredited ‘free to range’ status. A four shed ‘free range” grower contract with Inghams Enterprises.
The farm is averaging about 5.8 batches a year on a set bird capacity. The Inghams contract is for 10 years and the payment terms and rates have recently been revised.
An existing approval for a 43 lot residential subdivision is also in place across the three freehold titles. Mr Weale said this was an alternative investment option and also a viable potential exit strategy.
The property will be auctioned in Ascot on September 30.
