FARM group Cotton Australia has appointed Claudia Vicary as a graduate policy officer to contribute to the development of the organisation’s policy positions that protect and advance the interests of cotton growers.
Claudia will works alongside the organisation’s policy and advocacy team, based at the organisation’s Mascot office. The graduate policy officer position replaces a 12 month parental leave position.
Ms Vicary brings extensive professional and personal experience in agriculture.
She brings skills in cotton and horticultural integrated pest management, field research and international agricultural development.
Ms Vicary is completing her final semester of a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Agriculture at the University of New England, Armidale, and makes a number of contributions to the university’s agricultural studies community.
She was raised on a family-owned and run mixed farming enterprise in Northern NSW.
Chief executive officer Adam Kay said Cotton Australia was pleased to welcome Claudia to the team.
“Claudia’s skills and studies will serve to enhance the position of our growers. Claudia will work closely with Cotton Australia’s team of policy and advocacy staff and the broader team to advance issues important to cotton growers.”
