Scores of riders are expected for the Rupertswood & District Horse Club’s annual Barrel Race Spectacular taking place on Saturday, August 6.
Club treasurer Sharon Yardley said she’s expecting a big turnout of competitors on the day with nominations flowing in thick and fast for the nine event program.
“The nominations are mainly coming from the local area, but we also have riders coming from Charters Towers and from the south-east,” she said.
“This year all proceeds raised from raffles held during the event will go to The Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia (MNDRIA).”
The MNDRIA was established in 1984 as a national organisation promoting medical and scientific research into MND. The organisation has been driven forward by the vision to understand the causes, find effective treatments and discover cures for MND.
