Tattykeel Australian Whites stud, Oberon, have made a clean sweep of the broad ribbons at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, Bendigo today.
Both the champion and reserve ram ribbons were snatched up by Tattykeel stud with the August September 2015 drop sashed champion and the October November 2015 reserve.
Judge Danny Teskera, Roslynmead West stud, Echuca, said the champion ram had terrific bone and balance.
“He has so much power, so much capacity, so much muscle, it is ridiculous.
“He excited me when he came out for his class and he excited me when he got to the championship.”
He said the reserve was a smooth ram and if he was a little older he would have given the ram in front of him a run for his money.
Stud principal, Graham Gilmore said the ram has a massive amount of oomph and meat in him for his age.
Both the champion and reserve rams were by Tattykeel 343, the reserve champion at the Australian Sheep and Wool show last year.
In the ewe section Tattykeel won both the champion and reserve ribbons with the older April/May 2015 drop ewe just edging out the October/November 2015 class winner.
Tattykeel 343 was again a dominant sire in the ewe side of the Tattykeel team, also the sire of their reserve champ ewe.
Mr Teskera said the line up of sheep was a credit to the breeders.
