With just more than 1000 head yarded on May 26 at Emerald, a lesser quality yarding of store types was evident due to the upcoming weaner and feeder sale next week.
Slaughter types lacked in numbers resulting in a slight decrease on last week’s stronger values.
Bullocks over 550kg made to 275c/kg to average 259c, while steers 500-550kg made to 289c to average 266c, 400-500kg steers reached 291c to average 277c, while steers in the weaner weight ranges made to 296c to average 260c. Heavy cows over 520kg made to 218c, while cows 400-520kg made to 220c.kg to average 208c. Heifers over 400kg made to 278c to average 251c, with heifers 300-400kg made to 270c to average 243c, heifers in the weaner weight ranges made to 270c to average 237c. A small lot of Euro cows and calves made to $1315/unit.

Richard and Jenny Jansen, Riverview, Alpha consigned Euro cross heifers reaching 240c to weigh 346kg or $831.
