AYR property Rainbow Station has sold prior to auction to a Collinsville buyer. The price is understood to be more than $1.5 million.
The property was scheduled to be auctioned by Ray White Rural in Brisbane on May 13.
Located 80km south of Townsville and 10km north of Ayr, the 1010 hectare (2497 acre) freehold property consists of naturally open coast plains heavily grassed with improved pasture.
It is lightly timbered with some large gums, pandanus and ti tree which make up the cattle camps. There are several fresh water lagoons and streams the run through the property and drain onto tidal creeks and flats that provide a year long supply of salt bush. The soils vary from red alluvial sandy loams to darker loams.
Rainbow is fenced in three main paddocks and has two laneways. There are a set of steel cattle yards.
Other improvements include a four bedroom house and a large hay/machinery shed.
Kevin Currie and Russell Wolff from Ray White Rural handled the sale.
