Blackall combined agents yarded 1850 head at their end of month weaner and store sale on April 28. Given the persistent dry conditions fat cattle were also sold.
Cattle were drawn from the Prairie, Longreach, Jericho, Barcaldine, Jundah, Isisford and local districts.
Good quality lines of weaner steers and heifers were penned with quality being the greatest barometer. A strong buyer panel was again present with cattle headed back into central Queensland and the Darling Downs and Maranoa districts.
A good yarding of fat cows and bulls were present and the strength of the market mirrored other southern centres with well-presented lines attracting the premiums.
