FAMILY fun will be the order the day at the Historic Village Herberton this Easter weekend with the grand opening of a new toy shop and Easter egg hunt.
The shop will be officially opened today, having been restored over the past several months.
On Easter Sunday, children aged 3 to 12 years will be invited to participate in a traditional Easter egg hunt from 9.30am.
“We know children will have so much fun searching all the nooks and crannies of the Village in search of their favourite chocolates that the Easter Bunny has left behind,” said village owner Craig Kimberley.
“If you are looking for something to do these school holidays then check out the busy two week calendar of events on the website.
“There are activities for all ages and interests to keep the boredom away this school holidays.”
The toy shop includes scenes displaying the dolls and just as children would have played with them in eras gone by including a tea party, nursery, teddy bear’s picnic and the parlour.
Traditional games from yesteryear are also on display as well as a new sporting section complete with croquet, cricket, tennis, golf and cycling.
Train rides for all the family (not included in the entry fee) will run every day over the Easter long weekend as well as live demonstrations of working machinery, bush cooking and more.
