The Hinchinbrook Shire Council is preparing to launch new tourism initiatives in April to bring the Hinchinbrook Way to life.
Glossy destination brochures, the Hinchinbrook Way website and ambassador program are all set to take the tourism marketing of the region to a wider audience.
Hinchinbrook Shire Council’s executive manager for development and planning Rosemary Pennisi said the project is coming to fruition with the introduction of the Hinchinbrook Way to a regional audience set for next month.
“The Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce wholeheartedly supports this initiative to continue working together in the promotion of our district,” Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce acting president Felix Reitano said.
“We are excited to launch the Hinchinbrook Way website on April 16,” Ms Pennisi said.
“It’s a contemporary and intuitive website, designed to share our regional story and entice visitors to come and experience the Hinchinbrook Way,” she said.
“The site presents the shire’s best experiences, features our outstanding destinations and celebrates the themes of fishing, food, culture, nature, art and agriculture. Importantly the site also markets our exciting diversity of festival, events and markets.
“We are seeking to promote all local festivals, events and markets. So, if your event is open to visitors, no matter how small it is, please contact council so we can publish the event details on the new website.”
A destination brochure will be circulated to all regional visitor information centres in late April with all major Queensland information centres receiving the brochure by May 2016.
Council is also producing a 72 page brochure to be released on July 1 that easily fits in the palm of your hand and details the key experiences in the shire.
