Charters Towers beef producer, Emma Robinson has received the 2016 Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) Queensland Rural Women’s Award at a ceremony at Parliament House today.
Ms Robinson was one of five finalists in the awards and will now represent Queensland at the national RIRDC awards in Canberra in October.
The other finalists were Cilla Slack, Reids Creek, Krista Watkins, Walkamin, Amanda Hinds, Bundaberg and Fiona Lake, Hermit Park.
As the award winner, Ms Robinson will receive a $10,000 bursary to pursue her area of interest –the future of family farming.
Emma’s vision will build on her 2015 Winston Churchill Trust Fellowship research into producer co-operatives and beef supply chain innovation.
