THE North Queensland Droughtmaster Bull and Female Sale gets under way in Charters Towers on Monday, October 15, at 10am.

The offering consists of 82 registered and herd bulls accompanied by 12 registered females.

"The Droughtmaster breed is enjoying success through the sale rings across the state at the moment, making this sale no exception. It has always been a value-for- money sale," sale coordinator Ed Chambers of Elders Rockhampton said.

All the bulls have been semen tested and pre-sale inspected.

In addition the catalogue offering carries pre-treatment for ticks, fat and muscle scans, soundness evaluations and a myriad of vaccinations.

The offering is dominated by polled genetics with 80 percent of the catalogue registered or recorded as having polled genes.

Appearing throughout the catalogue are some of the breed's most sought after, reliable and high-performance sire genetics.

Vendors at the sale include Leverdale, Braywood, KM Cattle Company, Minlacowie and Wingfield Parawanga Stud, Swan Heart, Trafalgar, Warrina and Kenlogan.

Buyers wishing to view the sale cattle can do so at the 'Bull Walk and Refreshments' to be staged at the Dalrymple Saleyards, Sunday, October 14, commencing at 3pm.

Elders have offered outside agents a 4pc vendor rebate to approved agents adhering to the normal introduction and settlement requirements and a freight rebate of $55/head will be available on purchases of five or more bulls.
