THE finalists shortlist is down to 24 of Australia's and New Zealand's most outstanding growers, agronomists and farm advisers in the 2015 Syngenta Growth Awards.
The awards, presented by Syngenta in partnership with Case IH and Fairfax Agricultural Media, were established to recognise innovation and leadership at a local level in Australasian agribusiness.
Finalists were drawn from an initial pool of more than 65 high-calibre nominees.
The Growth Awards aim to highlight outstanding contributions to agriculture across one or more of the three award categories:
Productivity
Judging in the Productivity category focuses on the use of best practice to achieve consistent productivity gains.
Sustainability
Sustainability nominations are assessed for commitment to addressing industry issues to create a long-term future for farming.
Community and People
The Community and People category aims to highlight entrants who make a leading contribution to their agricultural community, workers and fellow growers.
A total of nine Australasian winners will be announced on December 1 at the Growth Awards dinner.
Winners will be selected by an independent panel drawn from across the industry. The winners will have the opportunity to take a study tour of the UK and Europe in 2016.
Growth Awards and the Good Growth Plan
The Growth Awards were developed in support of The Good Growth Plan, launched globally by Syngenta in 2013.
The Good Growth Plan aims to make a lasting and positive impact on the farmers and rural communities working tirelessly to provide the world's food security and support long-term sustainability in feeding a growing global population.
