There is only a matter of days before registrations close for the second Yungaburra Triathlon, to be held on November 14-15.
Be part of something special and register by Sunday, November 8 for one of five events to avoid missing out.
Held at the Avenue of Honour, Tinaburra Foreshore, the event will help raise funds for Soldier On with entertainment and activities occurring throughout the weekend in the town centre also.
“From the elite triathletes vying for over $10,000 in prize money to beginners trying out the sport for the first time, there is a race to suit any age or ability,” event ambassador, returned serviceman and paratriathlete Michael Lyddiard said.
The Enticer, Corporate (team) and kids Aquathon events will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 3pm and the more difficult Olympic and Sprint races will be held on Sunday, November 15 commencing at 7am.
All events can be entered as an individual or as a team, with a minimum age of seven or older able to participate.
Councillor Rod Marti said the town centre of Yungaburra will be accessible for the entire weekend with a brief road closure on the Gillies Highway between Maple Street and the Malanda-Lake Barrine Road, through Barrine Road including Lakeside Drive from 6.30am to approximately 10.30am on the Sunday morning.
“Williams Avenue through to the boat ramp will be closed to vehicular traffic during the races on both days,” Mr Marti said.
