Brahman enthusiasts have welcomed the release of the 2015 Lancefield Brahmans Invitation Sale catalogue.
They will be scanning through its comprehensive information package of pedigrees, Group Breedplan EBV’s, damline breeding histories and description notes to identify the bulls which will suit and positively influence their stud or commercial breeding operations.
The fact that Lancefield bloodlines have remained at the top levels of the Brahman breed for over 40 years is testimony to the genetics developed and maintained in the vendor studs, which have been endorsed by successful, widespread stud and commercial beef industry performance for generations.
Sale principals Scott and Lizette McCamley, Lancefield Stud and Matthew and Janelle McCamley, Lancefield M Stud together with invited vendors Andrew and Anna McCamley, 2AM Stud and David and Julie McCamley, Palmal Stud have catalogued 91 bulls comprising 72 Greys and 19 Reds for the Monday, October 26 auction at Gracemere. Recent industry demand for poll bloodlines is well catered for with 26 sale bulls designated as poll or scurr.
The McCamleys are very proud of the longevity of their studs’ bloodlines.
“Many of these damlines extend back to the 70’s and through constant selection for superior performance, they remain as relevant to the modern beef industry and to the Brahman breed now as they have at any time,” Scott McCamley said.
“This genetic strength is invaluable to bull buyers looking for quality consistency in progeny,” he said.
Sale sirelines offer a broad selection of the ‘leading light’, proven Lancefield names Rocafella, Buster, Bazuka, Elgin, Kirby, Dynamic, Preston, Whistler, Dominus, Blade, Titon, Nitrate, etc. as well as popular imported sires JDH Echo, JDH Cutler and Mr International 50/1.
The top price bull of Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale featured Lancefield bloodlines in his pedigree, a source of satisfaction to the Lancefield vendors.
“It’s great to see our genetics consistently performing with high level success, industry wide for fellow studs,” Matthew McCamley said.
“We are very confident that we have a selection of sire prospects in our sale this year that will be real impact sires of the Brahman breed in the future,” he said.
