THE Eastern Young Cattle Indicator continues its march upwards, reaching 595.25 cents a kilogram cwt on Tuesday night.
It represents a 5 cent rise from last week and a massive 231c/kg from this time last year.
Yearling steers averaged 601.36c/kg cwt yesterday, up 7.02c/kg from last week, while yearling heifers gained 3.62c/kg to average 581.85c/kg.
Vealer steers eased back to 611.43c/kg, while vealer heifers gained 2.40c/kg to average 584.16c/kg.
Among the biggest gains for EYCI-eligible cattle were prices at Roma store sale, where there was a 9.28c/kg rise to average 591.75c/kg.
Gunnedah gained 7.11c/kg to average 604.55c/kg.
NVLX Wodonga also gained 1.62c/kg to average 603.44c/kg.
