VISITORS to Beef Australia 2015 have the opportunity to take front row seats for a viewing of some of the most innovative cattle operations in the industry.
Tickets go on sale today for the event’s Westpac Agribusiness Property Tours Program, which will inspire visitors with an up-close look at leading Central Queensland stud and commercial operations, as well as mixed farming businesses and agri-tourism ventures.
Beef Australia chief executive Denis Cox said the program was comprised of a mixture of half and full-day bus tours, as well as two ‘platinum level’ helicopter tours.
“Guides and property owners will provide detailed insight into the operations, inspiring the adoption of innovation amongst industry peers, whilst showcasing the capability of our Australian agribusiness service sector to international visitors,” Mr Cox said.
“We have everything from organic beef production, innovative cropping, environmentally sustainable pasture management, tourism, stud and commercial cattle, to cutting edge research and education facilities.”
Some of the properties featured are Glenmore Homestead, Belmont Research Station, Old Bombandy, Roxborough, Calliope Station, The Old Station, Kaiuroo, and Berrigurra.
Beef Australia is the cattle industry’s national exhibition. It is held just once every three years in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, with the next event to be held on May 4-9.
The expo is a platform for the development of all levels of industry, by growing export beef markets, educating producers in new practices, and engaging consumers about the great taste and benefits of beef.
“Producers attending this year’s event will have ample opportunity to improve their skills, network in a global context and expand their knowledge through these tours, our industry symposium and the daily seminar series,” Mr Cox said.
Tickets to the Property Tours went on sale online on Monday, March 9.
