AFTER the business at hand was settled during the first day of the 43rd ICPA state conference in Townsville on Thursday, members reconvened at the Pavilion Room, at Jupiters Hotel and Casino for a night filled with moving speeches, some great grub and plenty of laughter.
The theme for the dinner was ‘It’s your time to shine’ and yellow was chosen as the primary colour which created a wonderfully cheerful atmosphere on the night for the members in attendance.
Warren Connolly from the Belyando/Mount Coolon branch acted as MC for the dinner, and he kept the crowd well entertained with his cheeky patter.

ICPA stalwart Lorraine McGuiness received a certificate of appreciation from ICPA Queensland, during a lovely speech by fellow long-time ICPA member Rosemary Philp, and Ray White Rural Townsville’s Kevin Currie conducted an auction with some great items up for grabs.
A great story was conveyed to the crowd by friends of the $5000 Art Union first prize winner Heather Gersekowki who was not in attendance.
Mrs Gersekowski will be using the money to take her sick child overseas for treatment as soon as possible.
A great night was obviously had by all as the partying went well into the night.
