OF all the north Queensland country race meeting Ingham is always one of the most popularly supported and this year’s Ingham Gold Cup meeting was no exception.
In excess of 1000 people turned out on a beautiful day last Saturday for a great day of racing, revelry and for some just a good chin-wag.
Whatever the reason the Herbert River Jockey Club committee can stand proud of once again staging an excellent race meeting that ticked all the boxes for country racing.
The feature race The Ingham Gold Cup was won by just a head by the John Manzelmann trained May Nelly ridden by jockey Yamanin Vital from Date with Fame, jockey Stephen Wilson, 2nd and The Principal, piloted by Jeffrey Felix a neck behind for 3rd.
