THE Beat Bad Energy Bucko Billy Rodeo is set to kick off the North Queensland rodeo circuit once again at the Charters Towers Showgrounds on Saturday, January 26.
Held on the same weekend as the famous Goldfield Ashes, the rodeo is now in its 18th year and will see gates open at 3pm and events start at 5.30pm
The 2013 Bucko Billy program includes five sections with some great prizemoney up for grabs; the open bull ride will offer a purse of $3000, with the top five scores continuing on to the finals; $1500 for the novice bull ride; $600 for the juvenile bull ride; $500 for the ladies' mickey bull ride; and $300 for the Reg and Alma memorial calf ride 12 years and under.
Other entertainment on the night will include live band, 52 Pick-Up, stalls, a jumping castle for the children, as well as great food and a licensed bar.
There will also be some great prize giveaways with lucky gate tickets to be drawn at 9.30pm, and children under 14 years who leave their name and age with the secretary will be in the running for some great prizes of their own.
