THE Richmond Field Days Race Meeting has always been a venue for field day exhibitors to relax and have a bit of fun after the previous days of exhibiting. This along with folk outback, North-Western Queensland wanting a little distraction from the drought, is a recipe for a great day of fun and country racing.
And that’s exactly what happened last week at Richmond where in excess of 500 people mixed and mingled, laughed and chatted and forgot the rest of the world for a couple of hours.
Fashions on the Field attracted $6000 in prizes thanks to major sponsor Hitchley and Harrow and some of the most elegantly dressed ladies in the North West.

The action wasn’t all about the thoroughbred racing. After the final race some good ‘old fashioned country fun’ began with a stick horse cutting competition coordinated by Aysha MC Coy.
The photos on this page are a record of the day.
