A NEAR complete clearance combined with a two state buyer list were standouts at last weeks annual Gyranda Santa Gertrudis Sale, Theodore. Conducted by the Mahony and Joyce families the sale witnessed classified bulls top at $12,500 while purebred commercial bulls topped at $5000.
Statistically 10 'elite' classified bulls set a $7100 medium topping at $12,500 while 69 classified counterparts hit a high of $8500 to average $3986 ending with a classified bottom line of $5278. The 10 purebred bulls averaged $3389 delivering an overall bottom line medium of $4278.
Peter and Sharon Seawright, Clermont took home the top seller, the 844kg, Jessie James (P) (24-months). The son of Rosevale Noddy A18 (P) will take up duties at Comet Downs, Injune. Next best at $10,000 was a paternal half brother, Jericho (P) a 25-month, 850kg with a 130EMA selling to John and Jo Knights, Warragumbah, St George. Warragumbah selected their duo for a $7500 average. Tod and Joanne Dennis, Kurrajong, Clermont took the $8500 Julius Caesar (P) (25-months) a 830kg by the homebred Ceasar (P) with a 126EMA and scans of 15/10mm.
Volume support came from the Crisp family's, Lorraine Station, Cloncurry accounting for 11 for on average $3636. Scott and Louise Russell, Consuelo Station, Rolleston signed off on nine topping at $4000 to average $3000. Rob and Annie Donoghue, Baradoo, Bauhinia Downs took eight at a top of $5500 to average $3625.
Mt Milson Grazing Company signed off on four to average $6000 while Pat and Jacquie Ryan and family, Freitag, Springsure collected six to average $3667.
Western Australian breeder, Wendy Gould, Wendalla Stud, Victoria Park selected the $6000 J204 (PS) a two-year-old by Gyranda Dynamic (P) while the top seller in the classified section went to Graeme, Peggy, David and Sonya Greenup, Rosevale Stud, Jandowae. Taking up duties at Rosevale will be the $8500 J156 (P), (798kg) (Gyranda Caesar) boasting an 11/8mm scan with a 125EMA and a final EBV of +16.
Greg Hutton, Togara, Comet took a trio for a $5333 average topping at $7000 for J494 (P) (24-months) while Ray Rider, Moura took a trio to a top of $5000 to average $3667. Seven went to return client, TV Fairfax, Glenbar, Theodore who averaged $5071, topping at $6500 for the elite entry, Jethro (23-months) (Gyranda Extraordinary) (742kg).
The Cruickshank family, Rockdale, Theodore signed off on three to average $5333 topping at $6000 for a 25-month-old son of Gyranda Editor, J534 (702kg). DAF, Brian Pastures, Gayndah took the $6000 J284 (P) a 24-month-old by Dangarfield Spinifex. Murgon district producers, Ralph and Margot Schmidhouse, Flagstone, secured five throughout the offering for a $3400 average. Dan and Bobbi Joyce, Woolshed, Theodore secured four to average $2750 while Ross Vander Have, Narangy, Mundubbera took a trio to average $3333. Andrew and Michele Isler, Kitty Maran, Theodore took the $6000 J476 with the Bell family, Kinnoul, Taroom outlaying $5000 for the top selling herd bull, J196 (P) (Dynamic) (25-months) (692kg).
