AN earlier date for the Thomson River Bull Classic, formerly the Longreach Twilight Show Sale, should improve prospects for the vendors who have moved their sale date forward to Friday, April 11 to capitalise on a recent break in the season across some parts of central western Queensland.
Sale hosts, the Postle family, Branchview Charolais, and Noller family of Noller Charolais, and their families have kept the Longreach saleyards venue and retained the services of their local agent Bill Seeney of Ray White Livestock, but will commence selling at 10am.
Stud principals Andrew Postle and Jeff Noller will again present a draft of quality Charolais and Charbrays which boasts a line of 30 performance Charolais with a selection of polled and red factors bulls to choose from. In addition, five quality Charbray bulls from the Noller stable have been added to the catalogue.
With over 30 years of Charolais breeding behind them both Noller and Branchview Charolais studs produce bulls that meet the specifications and offer bulls with excellent performance, finishing ability and good constitutions, creating the ideal cross breeding sire.
“We've been hoping to bring the sale forward to better suit the typical joining period,” said Mr Postle.
“So this year with the recent break in the season experienced across much of the region it seemed logical to bring our sale forward as soon as possible and that way graziers could secure bulls for the current joining period if needed,” he added.
