THE Burdekin Shire Council is calling on creative and fashion savvy residents to take part in the Trash is Trendy competition.
The competition involves creating wearable articles of clothing out of items that would normally be placed in the recycling bin. This could be clothing, jewellery, hats and accessories.
The competition winner will receive $100 cash and runners up will receive a family pass to Reef HQ or Billabong Sanctuary.
Competition entries close on November 5 to get your creative piece of trendy trash to Council's offices in Young Street, Ayr.
All the entries will be displayed at the Home Hill Harvest Festival Mardi Gras on Saturday November 8, at the Burdekin Shire Council's marquee.
The Trash is Trendy competition is being held as part of National Recycling Week.
