IT was another wonderful day of country racing at Stamford with 36 starters and nine jockeys in attendance on July 6.
With a warm winters’ day and gentle breeze it was the perfect day for fashions, friendship and fun.
The patrons were entertained by Windy Wizard and Pinky's Disco and the novelty events and footraces kept all ages entertained.
The Fashions of the Field had 16 categories and saw some wonderful fashions on display
Over 400 patrons played, danced and chatted into the early hours of the morning and over 100 patrons stayed the night and enjoyed the free breakfast on Sunday morning.
2013 saw several new facilities built at the course with a new lady jockeys’ room and power and water supplied to the car park for the campers.
Organisers would like to thank all travellers who came and helped out over the weekend.
The feature race, the Macquarrie Trucks Stamford Cup, was won by the Denise Ballard trained Abdicated ridden by Dan Ballard.
