LIFELINE Broken Hill recently rolled out the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander DV-Alert program previously delivered by Lifeline Australia and will be delivering this training opportunity in Townsville and Mackay.
DV-Alert is a two day training opportunity for people working in frontline community services sector, health and allied health professionals that enables workers to recognise, respond and refer potential clients that may be going through domestic and family violence.
The workshop is fully catered and is provided by nationally accredited trainers. The training is free of charge and Lifeline will also cover reasonable costs of participants requiring travel, accommodation and staff backfill.
Accredited trainers from Broken Hill will be delivering the training in Townsville on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, and in Mackay on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24.
The training is limited to 20 participants so people wishing to get involved must register ASAP. The program is funded by Department of Social services and is being delivered to only 14 communities in Australia.
