WITH the incidence of breast and prostate cancer on the increase the onus is on all Australian communities to do their bit in raising funds for research into a cure of these insidious diseases.
To boost morale and fundraise for the West n Breast and Prostate Cancer Support Group, Elders Winton sponsored a ladies luncheon held in Winton on March 20.
The day was extremely well received by 130 ladies from Winton, Longreach, Cloncurry, Muttaburra and Boulia and was labeled a resounding success by the organisers and ladies alike.
The fundraising effort received overwhelming support from both ladies attending the function and many sponsors from local and afar.
The guest speaker, Robyn Moore proved a hit, engaging her audience with tales from her past and activities to self-motivate.
The ladies were also treated to a fashion parade by local boutique Matilda’s Wardrobe.

Varied, fantastic and well-travelled trade stalls were on-site for attendees to browse and Western Livestock Manager for Elders, Tim Salter, conducted an auction with the items being made or donated predominantly by local businesses.
The Elders team is extremely excited to announce that the luncheon raised $15,458.96 for West’n Breast and have put out a challenge to other outback Elders offices to match or beat it.
Elders Winton would sincerely like to thank the many sponsors for their support and generosity contributing to the day’s success.
