FAR North Queensland’s biggest and best agricultural field days in May promises the latest in products, innovation and technology for the region’s agricultural industries.
Rotary FNQ Field Days Committee chair Ida Portella said an overwhelming number of exhibitors were returning this year, along with many new businesses.
“We have sold out of our site already for 2015, we currently have a wait list in place on our web site,” Ms Portella said.
“In 2013, exhibitors reported strong event and post-event sales, with enquiries being received six months after the event,” she said.
“That’s supported by the large number of businesses all over Queensland who are lining up again this year.
“The committee, and combined Mareeba and Atherton Rotary Clubs, are working hard to make sure the 2015 event delivers big crowds once again.”
TGT – a long-established Tablelands business with interests in the hardware, rural and agricultural industries – is one of the oldest exhibitors at the event.
General Manager Sheldon Mulla said the field days are a premier event for the region.
“TGT is very diverse local company and the field days provide us with an opportunity to showcase our diversification through a wide range of agricultural, rural and hardware related products,” Mr Mulla said.
“Through the success of the field days we are able to reach a greater number of our customers who come from all over north and western Queensland, an opportunity we would not otherwise have, if it weren’t for the field days,” he said.
The field days, being held on May 27-28, is a joint initiative of the Tableland Rotary Clubs of Atherton and Mareeba.
Gerard Anselmi, who operates Recharge Battery Revitalizer, is a first-time exhibitor.
“We have chosen to exhibit after hearing from colleagues and clients how good the event is,” Mr Anselmi said.
“We hope we can make people aware of our Recharge Battery Additive product and the advantages it brings to farmers and other users by allowing them to get their batteries full potential lifespan,” he said.
“We believe sales will follow from that.”
Other exhibitors like MAF Oceanic, a corporate partner with the Australian Association of Citrus offering global packing equipment and automation solutions to the fresh produce industry, is looking to the field days to deliver them more customers.
“We already service about 15 customers in the region and believe the field days presented an opportunity not only to expand our business but also display our products,” MAF Oceanic’s Fabien Bachagherouin said.
