THE 2015 Gold City Campdraft is being held on May 22-24 at the Dalrymple Equestrian Centre.
The action kicks off at 12pm on Friday, May 22, with the Qld Rural Futurity Draft followed by the W Titley & Co Ladies Jewellery draft where the ladies will be riding for a beautiful pearl jewellery set valued at $550.
Next on the slate will be the Kane Helicopter Service Encouragement Draft which is for competitors living in a 200km radius of Charters Towers and have not won an open aged draft before.
After the sun goes down attendees will be treated to the spectacle that is the NAB Restricted Open which is held under lights.
Be sure to get up to the fully licensed bar and get yourself a great vantage point to watch these open horses go around.
Once the Restricted Open is concluded the Steel Supplies Invitational team will take on the Gold City Committee’s team in the Steel Supplies Invitational Top 10 Shoot Out.
This is sure to be a great, fun event and one not to miss.
After the Friday program is concluded some great products that have been donated to the committee will be auctioned off to raise money for Aussie Helpers.
There will be catering provided by the Golden Roast all weekend and a live band on Friday and Saturday night along with a fully licensed bar which is open until 12am. Saturday morning events will commence at 6.30am with the first round of the $10,000 Steel Supplies Open draft, followed by the Holliman’s Pty Ltd Novice and the Noel Toomey Junior draft.
Once again there will be some hot drafting action at night as the final of the Open will take place under the lights following the Calcutta, which is your chance to make some money off the backs of the Open finalists.
Sunday morning starts again at 6:30am with the Mick Dahl Maiden draft and wraps up with the Causeway Produce Juvenile Draft.
