WILMAR Sugar Australia met with representatives from Canegrowers' collectives from the four Wilmar cane supply regions on April 1.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the engagement process and format of future meetings.

Wilmar's executive general manager for North Queensland, John Pratt, said both parties had the opportunity to discuss the engagement process and format of future meetings.
“The next meeting will be held on 13 May 2015, where both Canegrowers and Wilmar will present the detail of their proposed marketing models," Mr Pratt said.
“We look forward to hearing the detail of Canegrowers’ collectives proposed model for the future marketing of raw sugar," he said.
"Similarly we look forward to hearing Canegrowers’ feedback on our proposed marketing model.
“Wilmar has developed draft copies of the legal agreements that give life to the key principles we committed to for a post-2017 marketing model.
"We will present the key features of the draft marketing model at the next meeting with Canegrowers’ collectives.”
Wilmar has also proposed commercial negotiations be progressed in an open and transparent manner through independent facilitation and observation by the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
“We look forward to Canegrowers’ positive feedback regarding the attendance of external observers at the meeting on May 13 and the engagement of an independent facilitator for following meetings.
“A further meeting date of June 3 has also been set for Canegrowers and Wilmar representatives to meet and exchange feedback on the proposed marketing models presented in May.”
