The REAL TIME project aims to make the direct connection (paddock to stream) by intensively monitoring the runoff at the downstream end of the sub-catchment stream/drain, and tracking any spikes in concentration of nutrients and pesticides, back to the farm and paddocks.

THE Burdekin Bowen Integrated Floodplain Management Advisory Committee (BBIFMAC) has received funding from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) and the NQ Dry Tropics Reef Rescue Program, to carry out real-time water quality monitoring in a sub catchment of the Burdekin River Irrigation Area.
